What is Vespera's Cosmos?

Vespera's Cosmos is a merge-style mobile game made by GF Interactive. It's a merge adventure and a builder in one, made for phones and set among the stars.

New to merge games? The idea is simple: put two matching items together and you get one better item. Merge adventures wrap that loop in a story, and builders use it to restore and rebuild. Vespera's Cosmos is both.

At its heart are two celestial bodies that need restoring: Venus and the Sun. Each one has its own merge chain, and each chain has a producer building that starts out broken.

Two characters lead the story: Vespera, a cosmic sorceress, and Helia, the Sun.

The game is in development and isn't out yet. It's planned for Android, with Google Play first. Pre-registration isn't open, and there's no release date. When either changes, we'll post it here and on our social channels.

What the game is built on

Four ideas shape Vespera's Cosmos. Each one is true of the game today. The details around them are still in development.

  • Merge to restore

Merging is the core of the game. In a merge game, two matching items combine into one better item, and that item can combine again, step by step up a chain. In Vespera's Cosmos, those chains are how restoration happens.

  • Two chains: Venus and the Sun

There are two merge chains. One belongs to Venus and one to the Sun, and each chain restores its own celestial body. Two goals, side by side, in one cosmos.

  • Rebuild what's broken

Each chain has a producer building, and each one starts broken. In merge games, a producer is the building that makes new pieces to merge, and in builder games, broken buildings are usually where the work begins. How it works here is still being tuned.

  • A cosmic cast

Two characters lead the story, Vespera and Helia, and more of the cast appears on the first poster, gathered behind the game's name. You'll meet them properly as development goes on.

The world and story

Vespera's Cosmos takes place among the stars, and the two celestial bodies at its heart are real ones.

The Sun is the star at the center of our solar system. Venus is the second planet out from it, and the one you can spot low in the sky near sunset or sunrise, brighter than any star. In the game, both need restoring, and the two merge chains are how it's done.

A note on names. In Latin, vespera means evening, and vesper is the evening star: the planet Venus, seen at dusk. Helia comes from helios, the Greek word for the sun.

Much of the story is still being written. We'll share more as it's ready, here and on our social channels.

Characters

Vespera

A cosmic sorceress

The game carries her name, and she's one of the two characters at the center of the story. More about her will come closer to launch.

Helia

The Sun

Helia is the Sun, and the second of the game's two leads. More about Helia will come closer to launch.

The rest of the cast appears on the first poster. Their names and roles will be announced as development goes on.

Both sides: a sun and a black hole

The key art for Vespera's Cosmos pairs a sun and a black hole. We call that idea "both sides."

It's a simple contrast. A sun pours out light and warmth. A black hole pulls everything in, even light. Put the two side by side and you have the far ends of space in one picture.

How both sides plays out in the game is still in development. When we can show it properly, we will.

Key art

The first poster for Vespera's Cosmos sets the name in purple and gold letters over a starry sky, with members of the cast behind it. It's shown in full at the top of this page.
